Hello fellow JRubyists,
we just released shoes 4.0.0.pre1 which is the new version of shoes
(just in time for the second birthday of the project):
What is shoes?
Shoes is a small little GUI toolkit to easily build graphical user
interfaces in Ruby :)
Shoes 4 is more modular than the old shoes and all Ruby. Its first and
default backend is JRuby + SWT, which is why I write you :)
Would be really happy if you tried it out!
Full release blog post:

Also a note of thanks to the JRuby community. You were warm and
welcoming when we decided writing shoes4 with JRuby and helped us choose
between SWT and Swing. Also we got 3 Google Summer of Code spots (one
for myself!) and in general a whole lot of help. And of course without
the seamless JRuby <--> Java integration none of this would have been as
easy as it is right now.
So... thanks and shoes on!
